Stump Grinding in Spring, TX
A stump left after a removal takes up the spot and the mower’s patience. Grinding takes it below the surface so the ground can be used again.
Grinding is digging. CenterPoint Energy tells customers to call 811 at least two business days before digging so underground lines can be marked. Ask whether the company makes that request for the job.

How deep does grinding go?
It varies by machine and job. Ask the company what depth it quotes, especially if you plan to plant or pour concrete there.
What happens to the roots?
Grinding removes the stump and the root flare near it. Larger roots farther out stay in the ground and decay over time.
Can grass go right back?
After the chips are cleared and the hole is filled with soil. Wood chips left in the hole break down and the spot can sink.
Stump in the Way?
Say how wide it is and what is near it. A tree service will call back with a price.
