Cypresswood

Tree Service in Cypresswood

A wooded 1970s and 1980s subdivision where live oaks and pines grew up over mostly one- and two-story roofs.

Cypresswood lies about two miles west of I-45 along Cypresswood Drive, reaching north to Louetta and west to Kuykendahl, in ZIP code 77388. Most of its homes were built between the mid-1970s and 1990, with a smaller section added in the mid-2010s. Live oaks, pines, crepe myrtles and magnolias are its common trees.

Two canopies, two kinds of call

The live oaks in Cypresswood spread wide and low, and after forty-plus years many reach over the roof. Their calls are mostly trimming: clearance, deadwood, weight off a long limb pointing at the house. The pines go straight up, and their calls are mostly removal once one starts to fail.

Live oaks keep their leaves through most of the year, so dead limbs stand out in summer as bare gray wood in a green crown. That is an easy thing to spot from the yard and a good reason to call in a trim before the next storm season.
